Mother's Day tips and tricks

Mother's Day has arrived and you are probably doing the same thing you did last year; getting into a panic over what to get the woman who raised you. Here are some tips to ensure your mom will have a great day.
Ask her what she wants to do. Don't assume your mom will want to watch you play video games all day or watch you cram for the finals. If she just wants to relax at home with her family, great! However you should make the most of it. Help out with laundry, put the dishes away or perhaps cook a nice brunch. Sometimes helping out with the regular chores on this day makes doing them that much more special.
Don't fight. Like any family, there are arguments, sometimes with your parents, and sometimes with your siblings. Put all of your grievances aside for the day and just enjoy each other's company. If you like fighting with your mom (like most young adults do) remember this phrase in life and you will go far: "If the wife/mom is happy the home is happy." It's the truth.
Clean your room. Don't spend all day on it, just tidy it up and vacuum. Believe me, the sound of the vacuum is the best sound any mom can hear.
Take up after your pets. This one may get you a little dirty but your mom will thank you. Clean up the yard after your dog and replace the cat's litter box.
Cook. I know some of us don't have the cooking skills of Wolfgang Puck but just try, and remember, it's the thought that counts. Breakfast is easy! Get some pre-made batter and cook up some waffles. Don't forget the toppings like strawberries, whipped cream, oh and the syrup, yum!
The cool thing about lacking talent is that there is a carry out place for everything. Get up extra early and go to your local breakfast diner, order out and viola! You are guaranteed a great meal and you can make it extra special by putting it on a fancy plate and tray and serving breakfast in bed.
For lunch, take mom out to a great outdoor restaurant to enjoy the nice weather we are supposed to have this weekend. While you are out, you can take her shopping. While we know shopping with mom can be torture, think about the pain she went through to bring you into this world.

How we could forget about our Mom? No way, every child has to show his love to her and not only at that day.
